The world's first photovoltaic energy storage system goes on sale

The global solar power supplier Tenesol has launched the world's first photovoltaic energy conversion and storage solution. After four years of research, the solar energy intelligent system supplies part of the international market.

Engineers have been studying viable solar energy storage systems for many years. This technology will make solar power available at any time, allowing the system to use its own electricity and to deliver some electricity to the grid.

Tenesol Managing Director Benoit Rolland said: "The photovoltaic energy storage will make solar technology more effective and become a more cost-effective energy source." System operators will benefit from self-sufficient power generation rather than purchasing from power plants. This will also make the solar industry more stable and rely less on government incentives.

In 2008, Tenesol joined with leading companies in France and Germany to start a new technology for photovoltaic grid-connected systems to create energy reserves. The program provides energy conversion and system management. Its features include: multi-directional energy flow, self-consumption, network support, and backup.

There have been extensive tests in Europe and now an operational system that can be mass-produced has been saved.

The program can be adapted to residential and small business systems. It can accommodate photovoltaic energy production up to 5 kilowatts. The system uses a lithium-ion battery. The battery ratio is 8 kW to 13 kW when the rated voltage is 190V-290V. The battery is compact and energy efficient. A staggering 97% efficiency has been achieved in field trials in the last two years.

The new storage system can save solar energy energy by 9.5 cents per kilowatt-hour.
