The world's first photovoltaic energy storage system went on sale

Global solar power supplier Tenesol has launched the world's first photovoltaic energy conversion and storage solution. The solar intelligent system has been researched for four years and is supplied to some international markets. Engineers have been working on viable solar panel energy storage systems for many years. This technology will enable solar power generation to be carried out at any time, allowing the system to use its own electricity and deliver some electricity to the grid. Benoit Rolland, general manager of Tenesol, said: “Photovoltaic energy storage will make solar technology more efficient and a more cost-effective source of energy.” System operators will benefit from self-sufficient power generation rather than buying from power plants. This will also make the solar industry more stable and less dependent on government incentives. In 2008, Tenesol, together with leading companies in France and Germany, began to create new technologies for energy storage for photovoltaic grid-connected systems. The solution provides energy conversion and system management, and its functions include: multi-directional energy flow, self-consumption, network support and backup. There have been large-scale tests in Europe and now it has saved a running system that can be used for mass production. The program can be retrofitted to residential and small commercial systems. It can accommodate up to 5 kilowatts of photovoltaic energy production. The system uses a lithium-ion battery with a battery ratio of 8 kW to 13 kW at a rated voltage of 190V-290V. The battery is compact and energy efficient. A staggering 97% efficiency has been achieved in field trials in the last two years. The new storage system can save 9.5 cents per kWh of solar energy. Engin Yaman, general manager of Tenesol Germany, explained: “When you look at Germany, especially electricity is very expensive.” Solar energy is not only an environmentally friendly choice but also an economic attraction.
